Stefan Zweig (1881-1942) ended up being an Austrian author who, at height of his popularity in the 1920s and 30s, was probably one of the most famous authors on the planet. Zweig was born into a wealthy Austrian-Jewish family members in Vienna, in which he attended college and institution before continuing his researches on Berlin. A devotee of Hugo von Hoffmanstahl, he'd posted his first book of poetry by the age 19. After using a pacifist position during the very first World War he travelled extensively and became a global bestseller with a string of hugely well-known novellas including Letter from an Unknown girl, Amok and anxiety. He also developed friendships with great article writers, thinkers and designers of day, including Romain Rolland, Rainer Maria Rilke, Arturo Toscanini and, possibly above all, Sigmund Freud, whose philosophy had a great impact on Zweig's work.

In 1934, using the increase of Nazism, he moved to London. Indeed there he began proceedings when it comes to divorce or separation of their first partner Frederika, who he previously left for his assistant Lotte Altmann, a young German-Jewish refugee.
