Franz Kafka Museum, Prague

The exhibition The City of K. Franz Kafka and Prague was designed and opened in 1999 in Barcelona. From 2002 to 2003, it was on screen on Jewish Museum in New York. In 2005 it had been put in inside unique area during the Herget Brickworks (Hergetová cihelna).

It gives a glimpse to the world of popular Prague-born Franz Kafka (1883 - 1924), the most important figures in 20th century globe literature.

The convention provides very first versions of many of Kafka’s works, communication, diaries, manuscripts, photographs, and drawings having never been exhibited, including three-dimensional displays, five audio-visual programs, and music specifically made with this event. The event it self comes with two components. The initial, Existential area, catalogues the important thing occasions and impacts associated with environment for which Kafka lived-in Prague. The 2nd part, known as Imaginary Topography, reveals how the actual reality of Prague and Kafka’s life there were transformed into a metaphoric image. Pictures of individuals and locations, manuscripts and books are interwoven in ingeniously conceived installations utilising the latest audio-visual technology. Words, pictures, light and songs combine to produce a symphonic entire.
